Cookie & Local Storage Policy

This policy explains how WaitQ uses cookies and browser local storage to deliver secure authentication, local print bridge functionality, and user preferences without advertising tracking.

Effective Date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

1. Overview

WaitQ ("WaitQ", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and browser storage technologies strictly to operate our multi-tenant SaaS platform, maintain user authentication sessions, and facilitate thermal printer hardware bridging.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking scripts.

2. Technologies We Use

A. HTTP Cookies

We use essential HTTP cookies (such as Supabase authentication session cookies) to identify your logged-in user account across page requests and protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF).

B. Local Storage (`localStorage`)

Local storage stores data in your browser persistent across sessions. WaitQ uses local storage to save your UI theme (Light/Dark mode), desktop print bridge printer settings, pre-shared bridge keys, and transient handheld queue buffers.

C. Session Storage (`sessionStorage`)

Session storage retains data while your tab remains open. We use session storage for temporary filter states in the POS, active table floor plan views, and multi-step onboarding forms.

4. Managing & Clearing Storage

You can clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. However, because WaitQ relies on local storage for authentication and print bridge configurations, clearing storage will require logging in again and reconfiguring local printer connections.
